Nothing that reaches out and grabs me untill now.....

Well it has been almost two months since my last entry. I find it hard to write about things that don't reach out and grab me, when I first walk into a store. Then I walk past the window of my local City Chic store and saw the Military Pleather Jacket. I know... I have said, I am over the military look as it was done last year..... how ever, it looks like the "military look" is in this season too. I must say I like this jacket because it goes will almost anything... jeans, a lbd or a cute little skirt such as the Lace Ruffle Skirt also from City Chic. Go take a peek, it's to die for!

I'm going to jump into something else and mention the LMFF, did everyone get to see the pics from the Fashion Show? Finally something different from CC, I heart the outfits on the catwalk.... something to get excited about. I can't wait until it all hits the stores. If you would like to see what I am talking about, go to: www.citychic.com.au. How ever.... I did notice a couple models that defiantly shouldn't be what City Chic is about. One model in particular would be lucky to be a size 12 after eating a large Big Mac meal. None the less, she was stunning... just not a 14+. I would hate to think they took in a plus size garment.

I must say I am some what disappointed. CC is about celebrating women of plus size, so why the need to have women that are not plus size? I really don't see what is wrong with putting a size 24 on the catwalk, do you? I am yet to see a company that is for us plus size girls... not afraid to show those sexy, curvaceous babes out there.

I put this to you City Chic. How about doing a campaign where you only feature size 20+? After all your clothes aren't just for size 14-18. So be proud of your +20 consumers and let them strut their stuff.

OMG Torrid have a "Maternity" range

While scanning  the Torrid site for new fashion trends, I saw that they have introduced a maternity range. About time a plus size retailer came out with fashionable clothing for pregnant women. I myself know how hard it is finding maternity clothes in plus sizes. What I cant understand is the ones that say they stock plus size, and their sizes stop at size 18. What about all us women who are a gorgeous size 20, 22 and 24+.

What I love about this maternity range as the clothing isn't like tents, they hug to your natural curves and your baby bump. For example Torrids Source of Widsom - Virtual Stretch Skinny Maternity Jean.
That's right ladies, skinny maternity jeans in plus size. All their tops are long line and have sleeves and are made for comfort not just style.

I think this a great move for Torrid and I hope to see other plus size retailers head in this direction. This is a market that is needed and us plus size pregnant ladies will be over joyed.

Pin Up Girls II

Over the weekend, I thought I would pop in to my local City Chic store. To my surprise, I was loving the new stock that just arrived. Could I have been to quick to judge on the new range? Don't get me wrong, I am still over the whole bows and hearts thing. I think things changed when I walked past the Spotty Polly Dress it was love at first sight. Yes, it has polka dots... but the style of this dress is just divine, gorgeous puff sleeves and a V neckline. However I would style this dress with a wide red patent belt, to break up the polka dots. This dress will also see you through winter, with a pair of black opaque tights and a red trench coat. Hot, hot, hot!!!

Moving along to the So Cute Contrast Dress, this in a different colour sold out with in a week last collection. This style suits any shape or size, the high waist and belt draws attention to the waist giving that illusion of a smaller waist and the stretch fabric to fits us girls with a bigger bust.

Also for us girls who like to keep our arms covered the Fine Stripe Puff Sleeve Dress is fab, comes with a 3/4 sleeve...... about time!!! I really would like to see this dress with other prints, I think it would fly of the racks.

I am really glad to see a few things this collection a little different and exciting, can't wait for the next collection.

Pin Up Girls

Happy New Year.....

It has been a while since my last blog, but I must admit I haven't been all that in City Chic's range. How many times can you repeat hearts, polka dots and bows? However you have it right with the Cherry Pie Dress, not a dot, heart or bow in site :)

Now for the Pin Up Tie Shirt, ok if you don't have tuck shop lady arms. I don't know how many customers comment on their facebook page asking for things with sleeves for that very reason.  I must say however I did see a photo of Elise on yellestyling.blogspot.com  and she does pull this look off. As for myself being a size 20-22 and having the arms to match... hell no. I'm not saying we should be covered head to toe, but it has to be flattering to the fuller figure.

Another hit would have to be the Piping Pin Up Dress, flattering and with always stay in style.... long after the bow and heart craze is long gone.

Bye for now....
