Everything Plus Size

When it comes to finding online plus size garments, i'm your girl. In my spare time I scan through pages and pages of fashion.... seeing whats on trend, on sale and who offers international shipping.

Asos:  Asos Curve is their plus size range, if you want to wear fashion that is young, hip and happening... then shop here. The fab thing is they offer free international shipping.

Yours Clothing:  Something for everyone... Plus size clothing UK14-UK32, Accessories, Lingerie, Nightware and Footware. Yours Clothing offer the latest trends at great prices. International Shipping is reasonable at $15AUS to Australia.

City Chic: Sizes AU14-AU24, this has to be one of my favourites. Most of my clothing is from City Chic, however items can be a little $$$. They also have a range of wide calf boots at under $200AUS. They only ship to New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom and the U.S.A.

Torrid:  Torrid offere a good range of sizes and they also have a rewards program. International Shipping at a reasonable price, I suggest shopping their sale..... fab for bargains. Clothing is for a younger market.

Evans:  You can find clothing for any age, also offers wide width shoes. International Shipping price is ok, however if you wish to return it the price can sometimes cost more than the item purchased. Make sure you take your measurements properly and take a good look at their size chart.

Dream Diva: Another great Aussie plus sized label. This fashion brand doesn't get enough credit. Clothing for most age groups, prices are a little cheaper than City Chic. Clothing is very well made and international shipping reasonable.

These are just a handful of fantastic plus size online outlets to buy, that provide international shipping. I hope you take a look, lots of sale items to be taken advantage of.Enjoy shopping ladies!

City Chic - MOD Collection

Hi Ladies & Happy New Year,

It has been way to long since I last made a blog entry. I had a baby girl in September and with a two year old also... I have been rather busy.

I have managed to pop into a City Chic store to snap up some sale items, when I saw the new arrivals in the "MOD Collections". As you all know I am not the type to say I like something when I don't to impress my audience.......... for me this collection is a bit of a hit and miss.

I am loving the dresse, finally a couple with a bit of a sleeve. As for the tops, rather daggy and frumpy looking, shapeless and uninspiring. Back to the dresses.... LOVE ME POLKA DOT DRESS.... Love, love, LOVE. City Chics description says it all "Cute and Flirty". I tried on and bought this dress, it is a great length just below the knee, gives a nice hourglass shape, room for us bigger booby women and has a cute cut-out love heart at back. On the rack, it looks like another polka dot dress, try it on you will be suprised.

One other dress that caught my eye, only because it has sleeves is the ICE SKATER DRESS.  What I like about this dress it is so versatile... could wear it to the office.... then put a pair of bright coloured pumps and skinny belt and you can go out on the town.  Looks awsome on, but for me it was a little short falling across the knees. For those girls who have great legs and good looking knees :) Try it on!!! I think they are also bringing this dress out in navy!

The ENGLISH ROSE DRESS need I say more. I am yet to try this on, this dress with a pair of nude pumps to elongate the leg.... A very feminine, sexy dress.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Nothing that reaches out and grabs me untill now.....

Well it has been almost two months since my last entry. I find it hard to write about things that don't reach out and grab me, when I first walk into a store. Then I walk past the window of my local City Chic store and saw the Military Pleather Jacket. I know... I have said, I am over the military look as it was done last year..... how ever, it looks like the "military look" is in this season too. I must say I like this jacket because it goes will almost anything... jeans, a lbd or a cute little skirt such as the Lace Ruffle Skirt also from City Chic. Go take a peek, it's to die for!

I'm going to jump into something else and mention the LMFF, did everyone get to see the pics from the Fashion Show? Finally something different from CC, I heart the outfits on the catwalk.... something to get excited about. I can't wait until it all hits the stores. If you would like to see what I am talking about, go to: www.citychic.com.au. How ever.... I did notice a couple models that defiantly shouldn't be what City Chic is about. One model in particular would be lucky to be a size 12 after eating a large Big Mac meal. None the less, she was stunning... just not a 14+. I would hate to think they took in a plus size garment.

I must say I am some what disappointed. CC is about celebrating women of plus size, so why the need to have women that are not plus size? I really don't see what is wrong with putting a size 24 on the catwalk, do you? I am yet to see a company that is for us plus size girls... not afraid to show those sexy, curvaceous babes out there.

I put this to you City Chic. How about doing a campaign where you only feature size 20+? After all your clothes aren't just for size 14-18. So be proud of your +20 consumers and let them strut their stuff.

OMG Torrid have a "Maternity" range

While scanning  the Torrid site for new fashion trends, I saw that they have introduced a maternity range. About time a plus size retailer came out with fashionable clothing for pregnant women. I myself know how hard it is finding maternity clothes in plus sizes. What I cant understand is the ones that say they stock plus size, and their sizes stop at size 18. What about all us women who are a gorgeous size 20, 22 and 24+.

What I love about this maternity range as the clothing isn't like tents, they hug to your natural curves and your baby bump. For example Torrids Source of Widsom - Virtual Stretch Skinny Maternity Jean.
That's right ladies, skinny maternity jeans in plus size. All their tops are long line and have sleeves and are made for comfort not just style.

I think this a great move for Torrid and I hope to see other plus size retailers head in this direction. This is a market that is needed and us plus size pregnant ladies will be over joyed.

Pin Up Girls II

Over the weekend, I thought I would pop in to my local City Chic store. To my surprise, I was loving the new stock that just arrived. Could I have been to quick to judge on the new range? Don't get me wrong, I am still over the whole bows and hearts thing. I think things changed when I walked past the Spotty Polly Dress it was love at first sight. Yes, it has polka dots... but the style of this dress is just divine, gorgeous puff sleeves and a V neckline. However I would style this dress with a wide red patent belt, to break up the polka dots. This dress will also see you through winter, with a pair of black opaque tights and a red trench coat. Hot, hot, hot!!!

Moving along to the So Cute Contrast Dress, this in a different colour sold out with in a week last collection. This style suits any shape or size, the high waist and belt draws attention to the waist giving that illusion of a smaller waist and the stretch fabric to fits us girls with a bigger bust.

Also for us girls who like to keep our arms covered the Fine Stripe Puff Sleeve Dress is fab, comes with a 3/4 sleeve...... about time!!! I really would like to see this dress with other prints, I think it would fly of the racks.

I am really glad to see a few things this collection a little different and exciting, can't wait for the next collection.

Pin Up Girls

Happy New Year.....

It has been a while since my last blog, but I must admit I haven't been all that in City Chic's range. How many times can you repeat hearts, polka dots and bows? However you have it right with the Cherry Pie Dress, not a dot, heart or bow in site :)

Now for the Pin Up Tie Shirt, ok if you don't have tuck shop lady arms. I don't know how many customers comment on their facebook page asking for things with sleeves for that very reason.  I must say however I did see a photo of Elise on yellestyling.blogspot.com  and she does pull this look off. As for myself being a size 20-22 and having the arms to match... hell no. I'm not saying we should be covered head to toe, but it has to be flattering to the fuller figure.

Another hit would have to be the Piping Pin Up Dress, flattering and with always stay in style.... long after the bow and heart craze is long gone.

Bye for now....

Beth Ditto @ Evans

I was really excited about the new range comming out, but seeing it all I can say is "Oh dear". How is hard it is to make garments that flatter our curves? I am really dissapointed with this range, I wouldn't buy them even if they were on the sale rack.

Take a look at the Black and Red Printed Dress. I have seen this dress on, it is to short and it gives no shape to the body what so ever. I would have liked to seen this a little longer, a different patern and a wide belt to chinch in the waist. I really don't see these garments flying of the racks. Really this only in my oppinion, you gorgeous girls may love the new line. Perhaps they would of looked better in a differnt pattern or fabric?

However if I had to choose two items from the range it would be the Floral Print Denim Skirt and the Heart Lurex Short Cardigan. The cardi can be worn with everything and the hearts are then in thing right now. As for the skirt it has a nice line and is a great length and can be dressed up or down.

Feel free to let me know your thoughts on the new Beth Ditto range or perhaps what you would of liked to seen more of.

For now, take care

Where to find hot curvy fashion online.

Being a curvy girl myself, I know how hard it is to find trendy fashion in lager sizes. I know I want to wear whats in fashion, clothing that is my age and I can wear with confidence. Here are some of my favourite places to buy plus size fashion online.

City Chic: Australia's leading high end plus size fashion retailer. I love, love, love this store and they sell online and post international. City Chic's clothing is trendy, young and fashionable. City Chic has stores right around Australia.

Dream Diva: The latest looks in larger sizes, fashion, Australia. Dream Diva sell online and post international. Unfortunatley they have only one store in Victoria, so you can't try on their clothes. However they are happy to exchange or refund. I have found Dream Diva's fashion to suit any age group.

Evans: A UK plus size fashion house that caters for all ages, shapes and sizes. Evans has stores across Europe, sell online and post international. If your 30+ you will love shopping here.

Asos: Asos is one of the UK's largest online fashion and beauty retailer. They have recently come out with a range called Asos Curve with sizes 20-26. If you want fashion that makes you look like you have just stepped off the fashion runway, then this is the place for you.

These are just a handful of my favourite places to shop. I will be listing more in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!

City Chic - MS BOUQUET

City Chic's new range "Ms Bouquet" would have to be one of the more feminine styles they have had for a while. With a gorgeous array of pretty pinks, florals, frills and some racey red. If you love French Chic, then you will love this range.

I am loving the Rosey Spot Tier Dress. This dress Features a rose and spot print and four gorgeous tiers. I have just purchased this dress and it looks hot on, if I do say so myself. You could wear this dress as shown with a killer pair of PeepToe Heels or team it with a cute little shrug and a pair of PeepToe Flats.

If your after a cute little denim skirt that isn't to short then the Denim Zip Pretty Skirt is a must. I can't rave about this skirt enough. Personally I find a lot of the City Chic denim skirts way to short, but this denim skirt is the perfect length. It has a flattering ruffle detail below the wide waist band and a visable center zip down the front. I like wearing this skirt with the Basic Puff Elbow Sleeve Top. I tuck the top in to show of the cute ruffle waist band on the skirt, it looks fab!

Ladies if your looking for the perfect dress for the spring races then you can not go past the Bow Trim Alice Dress. A pale pink dress with wide straps and a sweetheart neckline and bow trim detail on waist, perfect for any special occassion. You can find all these gorgeous items by clicking the underlined words.

I hope you enjoyed my first entry in my blog "Curves and the City".
